Korana Celan was born in Split,Croatia and resides in the UK,
She became a Londoner in 1998.
After completion of Fine Art & Applied Design studies in Croatia,
She began working in the creative industries.
She is a decorative guru, muralist, scenic artist, illustrator, painter,
Korana believes there is nothing you can’t be if you put your mind into it.
Over the years Korana has worked as a make-up artist in numerous fields including fashion, theatre, television and film,
and as an interior stylist in the Interior Design Industry.
She has never stopped exploring her creative abilities.
Korana has lived in Pittsburgh USA from 2004 to 2005 and worked as a gallery restorer.
While living in the USA, Korana had access to The Andy Warhol Museum that holds the largest collection of his artworks and archival materials in the world,
this was vital to Korana’s vision to develop her skills,
and added to her decision to swap her make- up brush to a painting brush and reformed her existing path to becoming a visual artist.
In the winter of 2016 she took a decision to build a studio on outskirts of London to marry her passion for Scenography and the Visual Arts.
Korana became a “damned artist” In January 2020 when she completed scenic art painting & techniques intensive course at DAP studios run by James Rowse,
which was fundamental to the expansion of her artistic practice and deepened her understanding of her creative visions and adulthood.
Her artistic work celebrates the transdisciplinary process of adding fragments, scenes and frames which have been reassembled to generate a new level of meaning.
Repetition of images, simplicity, bright colour and humour infused critical commentary, together with lines, segments of vivid colours, different surface textures emphasise and enrich the power of the meaning.
Creating this work is a means of Korana forging her own connection between the real world and spirituality, and from consumer culture to stereotypes,
In order to make pointed critiques about our society.
Working across a spectrum of mixed media methods and thicknesses of bubble gum colour paints,
Graphic impact has been deliberately created to evoke sensibility of contrasts.
Intimidating playful, decorative and chaotic yet mysterious reflecting conflict in human mind,
It will ultimetly underline popular cross culture characters,
and the issue of the civilisation and its discontent.
Her work has always been hevily influenced by London street art scene, comics and film noire.
Since embarking on this creative journey Korana has worked on a wide array of art and design projects for private and commercial entitles producing work within the UK and Internationally.
She has collaborated and exhibited in London, South East galleries and Internationally in Rome (Italy)
