Acrylic on canvas

A University of the Arts graduate from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design where she studied fashion Design, Lucy now works from her studio in East London.

Her artwork has been featured in publications including; The Telegraph, The Times, Campaign Magazine and Livingetc. Magazine.

Lucy has exhibited in various group shows including; Selfridges, Concrete and Glass festival, Shoreditch, Womankind Exhibition for International Women’s Day, The Marmite Prize, Nasty Women UK, shortlisted for the Secret Art Painting Prize 2019 and most recently featured amongst 50 international artists in the pioneering online exhibition A world Without End.

Lucy's artwork takes a critical view of socio-cultural subjects  referencing the visual vernacular from contemporary modern life. Exploring the complex relationships between pop culture kitsch and fine art, she crafts perfect messages imperfectly. On closer inspection, her photo realist style is simple mark-marking, strokes, scratches, scribbles - all layered evidence of the passage of time. Rendered through a hyper-real colour palette, her subject matter has a dark underbelly railing against the idealism, a shadow over the idyll to remind us of the transitory nature of experience and the artifice of our media saturated modern world.
